First Republic
1. Emilio Aguinaldo

-> The first and youngest Philippine President (at age 29)
-> A Filipino revolutionary general and politician
-> Born March 22, 1869 in Kawit, Cavite; the seventh of eight children
-> Married twice; first to Hilaria Del Rosario with 5 children then to Maria Agoncilio
-> At age 17, he was appointed cabeza de barangay
-> At 25, in 1894, he joined the secret organization KKK
-> At 29, elected as president of the First Philippine Republic
-> Went to Hongkong after the signing of the Pact of Biak-na-Bato
-> Returned home after the outbreak of the Spanish-American War
-> Proclaimed Philippine Independence in his home at Kawit on June 12 , 1898
-> Was captured by the Americans in Palanan, Isabela
-> Ran for president during the election in 1935 but lost to Manuel Quezon
-> Cooperated with the Japanese during World War II
-> In 1950, he was appointed member of the Council of State
-> Attended the Independence Day Celebration on June 12, 1962 after it was changed from July 4
-> Died February 6, 1964 of coronary thrombosis at the age of 95
